The history

Eljervik Gard has been a cornerstone of the region since the 1600s. It stands as a testament to the enduring Norwegian traditions of farming and hospitality. Over the centuries, it has evolved from a traditional farm into a cherished destination for visitors seeking an authentic connection with Norwegian culture and history.

Generations of families have tended to the land, cultivating crops, raising livestock, and fostering a sense of community that transcends time. Through periods of prosperity and adversity, the farm has remained a focal point for local traditions, passing down knowledge and values from one generation to the next.

Rental options (Stølshus) in 2025

Eljervik Gard offers rental of the Langfoss stølen in 2025. It is located directly from the top of Langfoss, approximately 600 meters above sea level. The path up, Stølsvegen, is steep and challenging but is one of the most popular hiking destinations during the summer season for visitors to Åkrafjorden.

The summit of the path at Vardahaugen, 642 meters above sea level, offers a panoramic view!
